My story begins as a teenager, working my very first full-time job. I was constantly sick and found myself at my local doctor’s office almost every day off. I felt sick all the time, I was unexplainably tired, suffered from rashes, asthma, sore muscles, and a sore tummy. The doctor continued to brush off my collection of vague symptoms until finally I demanded something more be done. Much to my dismay, she sent me off for scans to check if there was a hole in my heart! I was scared out of my brain, but thankfully everything was ‘perfectly normal’. If only I felt perfectly normal! Needless to say, I gave up on my doctor and suffered in silence for a while.
One day I happened to receive a voucher for a massage. Upon receiving this treatment, I discovered the massage practitioner was also a naturopath. She pointed out a few ways naturopathy might help some of the conditions I had checked off on her massage consultation form. I was sceptical but ready to give anything a go, so I booked in for a consultation. After a detailed case history and some blood tests, she revealed that I had some food intolerances and that my gut was in drastic need of repair. She sent me home with some pretty ordinary tasting supplements and a list of foods that I was to avoid for the next 3 months.
Again I was sceptical; I thought ‘how on earth could food be the cause of my problems’? Food was just something you grabbed when you were hungry; it couldn’t possibly have anything to do with it. Desperate, I tried her diet and supplements anyway, and to my surprise, it worked! All of my symptoms disappeared, and for the first time in a long time, I felt great!
This was the start of my love affair with Natural Health. From then on, I wanted to learn everything that I could about it, so I set off on what would be 14 years of study! I studied many different areas of natural health including massage for both horses and humans, energetic healing, natural beauty therapy, kinesiology, colonic irrigation, Bach and Bush Flower remedies, iridology, and herbal and nutritional medicine.
As you can probably tell, Natural Health is my absolute passion and reason for existing on this earth. All I want to do is use the knowledge I have gained over the last 14 years to help others regain their health just like I did, and it would be my great pleasure to help you on your path to better health too.
What is Wise Deer?
The deer is a shamanic symbol of gentleness, unconditional love, and kindness. The deer has the ability to listen with grace and appreciation, and teaches us not to push people to change, but rather to gently nudge them in the right direction with love and acceptance.
This is the way Belinda believes Natural Health Practitioners should nurture their clients to better health, and this is the foundation on which she has created Wise Deer Natural Health.
“I was lucky enough to win a $80 voucher for wise deer and used my voucher today for a massage and I’ve never had one before and I feel great after it. Belinda is lovely.”
